We received this coffee pot as a gift (second hand)..and we eventually gave it away to the goodwill. It has a major design flaw in that the front door swings open during brewing. This causes a huge mess of coffee grounds and water all over the counter top and floor, etc. I can't tell you how many times I started the coffee (or it was set up to automatically brew), came back into the kitchen after just waking up, and found a HUGE mess of wet coffee grounds and coffee all over the kitchen counter and seeping down onto the floor...what a way to start your day! We cleaned it every other day and it still happened. We even used DUCK TAPE to hold the door shut (this did work)..but who wants duck tape on their coffee maker. Just avoid this model...buy something else.
