beautiful lemon of a machine, would i get it again interestingly, YES !!
Positive Product Points
- best thing about this maker is its looks, thats it - lets you know when to descale ( but always de-lime every 2-3months, with this machine) - removable charcoal water filter - love the analog gage that lets you know how much coffee is left
Negative Product Points
- horrible reliability max life time is about 1 year or less - for reliability reasons you probably cant use the descale light to know when to de-lime
Detailed Commentary
Despite the horrid reliability of this maker at this high of a price point I still like it aesthetically. i think its perfect use is low volume office situation where after about 2hr it runs out of coffee and you just brew a new batch thru out the day.
It is easy to clean but a glass carafe is much faster and cleaner the the built in one.
if i recall the first machine failed to brew coffee, it warmed up but nothing came out
the second did the same thing but the display had nothing but 88888 on it
my third still chugging away after about 6 months, crosses fingers :)
Buying Experience
this is my third machine sent from cuisinart they are very nice, its not a hassle to get a new (refurbished) machine. they ask you to cut the power cord off the old maker and mail it to them, but this time i didn't and i still got my coffee maker and 6months later they haven't called about the cord.
Three Month Followup
stopped using machine for the past 2 months. started using a Chemex, when using fresh roasted (with 24-36hr rest time) beans the bloom would get grounds every were and became too much of a pain to have to clean up after of before making a pot.
