This machine is my Clover. One bold cup at a time!!
Positive Product Points
- Makes an excellent cup of coffee - Can use fresh ground coffee or pods - Can pick from multiple cup sizes - Large filter basket will fit 18-20 grams of coffee, or 2 coffee pods at a time - Looks good in a "Borg Cube" kind of way - Small footprint - Easy to clean and refill
Negative Product Points
- Occasionally leaks from the filter basket, especially when the grind is too fine - Pump could be a little stronger - Small drip tray
Detailed Commentary
I am an admitted Single Serve Coffee fan. I currently own a Keurig, a Grindmaster OPOD, and Tthe Cuisinart SS1 Cupomatic. I feel that one can get a good cup of coffee from all of them, but they all have their limitations. However, the Cupomatic can produce the best cup from fresh ground, and this is what I now use it for almost exclusively. For me, it is like my little Clover. I like very bold coffee regardless of the roast, and typically fill the basket for an 8 oz cup. You can make coffee as strong (or weak) as you like.
I believe I can get as good a cup with this as with a French Press, with easier cleanup.
My first machine was DOA, but the second has worked nearly flawlessly since. You will need to experiment with the grind, just like any of our other machines. What its long term reliability will be is unknown.
Buying Experience
I bought this from Williams-Sonoma, and they are great. There is an excellent warranty, essentially lifetime.
