Grind and Brew is what I want but this machine needs tweaking somewhere inside - maybe a better quality grinder and water parts.
Positive Product Points
This machine is neat and compact and is easy to use once you have understood the set-up instructions. Easy to clean as well. I like the fresh grind and brew feature in one machine.
Negative Product Points
Beans not fully ground and cannot change the grind consistancy. Water has to be measured out for each brew unlike the beans. Unit leaks from bottom.
Detailed Commentary
The beans can only be ground to one consistancy and I find the pieces are not uniform - some ecpecially large. I feel it uses way too many beans and does not get the full flavour value from them. To test this out I dried out the used grindings and ground them again in a coffee grinder and made coffee with them in a regular coffee maker. It may have been "second" cup coffee but it wasn't bad! It would also be more convenient if the water reservoir could be filled and the machine automatically use the amount of water needed at each brew, instead of having to measure out the water each time. However only one month after purchase, my machine has started leaking water from the bottom. I called Cuisinart customer service but they are unaware of any problem like this so far with this product. I intend to return the machine.
