Love this machine, works great, has lasted a long time and still going, and makes coffee much tastier than my old Mr. Coffee, and no glass pots to break!
Positive Product Points
Makes good coffee, keeps it hot for quite a while, and doesn't have a burned taste when you get to the end of the pot. You can make 4 cups or 12 cups of coffee in this machine.
Negative Product Points
It stands a little tall, making it hard to access without pulling it forward, out from under the cabinets. Pouring in the water is a little awkward, but once you get the hang of it, it isn't so bad.
Detailed Commentary
I have had this machine for over 4 years, now and, with the exception of when we are out of town, it is used daily. In year three, it began to leak the brewed coffee somehow. I ran white vinegar through it several times, then ran a pot of regular water to rinse it. After I did that, it stopped leaking. Since then, it has happened twice more, and each time my cleaning it with vinegar worked. Obviously, there is a build-up that can happen in the machine that causes this. Now I know what to do, so I clean it with vinegar regularly. I have never had a problem with the coffee staying hot. Even after it shuts off, I have gotten a cup from the machine and it was still hot enough to drink. It does not leave a burned taste, like the glass pots, but if the machine reservoir isn't clean, it will leave and old taste, so make sure you clean the holding area with warm soapy water and rinse it regularly. So far, the hot plate under the holding reservoir still keeps things warm, and the machine still works. It reminds me to clean it by flashing CL on the digital display. I have to also say, the quality of the cup of coffee is directly proportional to the quality of the coffee you put in it. It can't do much with substandard coffee. All in all, I'd buy this product again, and plan to shortly. I'd like to replace this one, and I think I will give the old one to my son and his new wife. They are college students, so coffee is practically required.
Buying Experience
I purchased this machine at Wal-mart, while looking to replace my Mr. Coffee. It was not as cheap as Mr. Coffee, but it was worth the money. Since this is a retailer, there isn't really much to review. I picked it up, carried it to the register, and paid for it.
