I use the My k-cup because of the higher price per cup using k-cups. There is only one problem with the re-usable filter. The 3 tabs on the filter holder will chip off over time. It will be necesssary to buy a new filter in about 6 months if you use it a lot. I would hope that Keurig is working on improving the design.
Detailed Commentary
I use my machine 4 or 5 times per day. Because I preffer to buy whole beans, I am using the k-cup filter. You can leave the brewer turned on all day but I turn it off after each brew. When I have my first cup in the morning, I turn the brewer on. I remove the filter and put about 1 1/2 tablespoons of my favorite dark roast, fresh ground coffee in it. The whole process takes little more than a minute. Even if some one esle is having a cup, it's a simple procedure to remove the filter, clean out the grounds, fill it again and put it back in the machine. The water has reheated and you push the brew button. If you are using the k-cups it's even simpler.
One thing I like is the cup sizes. Even though there are 2 sizes with this machine ( 6 oz and 8 oz ) you can actually get 5 cup sizes out of it. If you like a small cup, use the 6 oz or 8 oz. If you are like me and like a big cup in the morning, you have 3 more options. You can use the 6 oz twice, the 6 oz and 8 oz or the 8 oz twice for a travell cup. I use the 8 oz and 6 oz. First I brew the 8 oz. Then I lift the lever and set it back and push the 6 oz brew ( it takes a few seconds for the water to re-heat) for a large mug of coffee.
Brewing twice gives the maximum amount of coffee you can get from one serving in the filter. Because I use the " My-K-cup" filter, and a dark roast, freshly ground, I get a good cup of coffee. If I was using the k-cups I would use the 6 oz brew twice.
The biggest plus for me is the convenience and no wasted coffee. You would have to experiment to see what works for you.

Three Month Followup
This is an excellent buy. I use it on a daily basis and love the fact that I can brew one cup at a time with no mess. I use the removable filter and it only takes a moment to rinse it out and make a second cup. I would still recommend this brewer to anyone who wants to save time and money. There is no wasted coffee.
