Good, easy to use, reliable, better then a glass carafe.
Positive Product Points
Fairly fast brew times, fair design, quiet, and the carafe does a pretty good job of keeping coffee at proper temperature.
Negative Product Points
Occasional spills cap for the carafe is not screwed on correctly. The coffee can occasionally taste bitter after too much time on the warming plate. Mostly plastic mahine, doesn't feel very sturdy.
Detailed Commentary
We purchased this machine approximately three years ago. I had to give up on our previous machine (Braun) when we broke several glass carafes in our small porcelain sink. This machine has been a reliable performer since we purchased it. Themachine has performed very well except for one sticking point: if the carafe's cap isn't screwed on tightly and aligned with the threads on the carafe, you MIGHT spill when pouring. However, this doesn't happen everytime the cap is misaligned.
I like the fact that my hand fits into the carafe for easy sponge cleaning. I purchased a gold filter several weeks ago and that has added to the speed of brewing a pot, as well as enhancing the flavor of the coffee. You might need to buy a Krups gold filter because one stock gold filter I purchased didn't fit in the basket too well. Overall I have very few complaints about this machine. It has performed reliably and until now, without fail for three years. Now, I am deciding whether to get the new Krups Aroma Control model (as my wife desires....), or shell out some more bucks and get the Capresso FlavorTec, or something similar. I will probably go with the Krups and put the savings towards several weeks worth of quality ground coffee....
