Short time from power on until first cup. Ease of use, to include cleanup. Flavor of brewed coffee (using PodHead pods).
Negative Product Points
Small water reservoir.
Detailed Commentary
I saw this on the shelf at a Target, but didn't really get interested in it until I read a review here. One of the points I read about was the so-so flavor of the coffee with the Melita pods, and that some really good coffee was to be had using pods from PodHead.
Bought my first one for $50, but it seemed to leak no matter what I did. The reservior wouldn't stay in place during the brew, I guess because of the vibratory pump. So I took it back to exchange it, and to my surprise, Target had it on a temporary special for $35. AND the new maker had been modified with a clip to hold the reservior firmly in place (which eliminated the leaking problem), AND came with a second pod holder.
I tried the pods that came with the unit, but have to agree with the previous posts that the pods from PodHead are clearly superior. I brew a "double 5" for an early morning wake-up, while my wife prefers a "single 8." One of the beauties of the machine is that it accomplishes this easily, with the touch of a button.
Overall, highly recommended. Now if I could just get a larger water reservior.
Buying Experience
Target took the first (leaking) unit back with all smiles, and the replacement being on sale really stoked me.
