Detailed Commentary
I'm relatively new to coffee, but now realize that the gourmet beans I was buying from a local, unique (NYC) coffee store were useless with this machine. While I loved to ability to set a timer, throw in some beans, and have some fresh coffee waiting for me in the morning, I now realize that such convenience often promotes lazy behavior that results in poor quality coffee.
I've read reviews about this machine on Amazon.com and several (most) mention that a little plastic hinge piece will break requiring that one weight down the mill so that the unit will grind properly. Luckily that didn't happen to me, but while my unit would grind successfully, it would brew (water would not percolate up). Ugh.
