I was immediately unhappy with the stainless carafe that was poorly engineered .The locking lever on the mill- cover broke off and Melitta told us there was nothing to be done. I will never buy another Melitta coffee maker.
Detailed Commentary
From the start the coffee maker's stainless carafe was a mess to pour coffee from. We poured our coffee over the sink to avoid spillage. The coffee never seemed hot enough. A little over a year after purchase , the plastic lip that locks the lid on the mill , broke off and upon contacting their service department, we were told there was nothing to be done. I have never owned a coffee maker with a shelf life of only one year ( we make one pot of coffee a day ) so I was very surprised by the flimsy quality of the Melitta Mill and Brew.
