My advice: avoid all "products" produced by these corporate hacks and buy a quality, European machine.

Detailed Commentary
I bought this coffeemaker because it was on sale and a brand name. (In my defense I have lived overseas for five years so I didn't know what rubbish passes for "consumer goods" in the States these days.) Specific issues: the machine easily clogs, steam containing oils and grit lands on non-immersable parts requiring frequent cleaning, the carafe is very thin & easy to shatter; and the burner is so hot it quickly burns your brew into undrinkable drek. The designers of this machine deserve a sound flogging, or better yet: they should have to own and use this turkey on a daily basis.
Buying Experience
I miss my Krups coffeemaker which worked flawlessly.
