Bottom Line: Much better than hot plate type brewers which burn coffee from sitting and very often brew too quickly.  If you have to use a drip machine, get one with a thermal carafe and showerhead design like this one.
Positive Product Points

Easy to use, important showerhead design, great for those in a hurry in the AM as timer can be set to have coffee available when you are ready to leave.  Makes a good cup because of the showerhead design which evenly soaks coffee.

Negative Product Points

Carafe holds water after cleaning up under/inside the spaces between the outer an inner layers which means it leaks this water which sometimes looks like it has coffee in it - I don't know what the problem is, it doesn't leak coffee after brewing, but water somehow gets into places it shouldn't when wet.

Detailed Commentary

Easy to use, and even though most will say you should NEVER grind first then load your machine and let it sit overnight (with timer set), this really does not detract from the coffee experience especially if fresh roasted.  It only sits about 2-3 hours at most before brewing with our schedule.  I have measured the water temp and while it is a little lower than recommended, it does not seem to affect the flavor (it doesn't produce a sour or underextracted coffee).  Thermal carafe is GREAT, I have emptied it at the end of the day and it is still hot (not that one would drink it after hours of sitting!), anyway, it does keep the coffee very warm for a long time.  Also great for bringing coffee to dinner parties or picnics.

I had the Cuisinart Brew N Serve with thermal carafe but it uses a cone shaped filter and it has only ONE hole for the water to come out of - RIGHT OVER THE HOLE WHERE THE COFFEE DRIPS OUT, which means underextracted coffee every time.  This is what happens when you have a straight shot of water coming out of the brew head through to the coffee output hole.  That's why I wanted ONLY a drip machine with a showerhead design, many circular holes over the flat bottom coffee filter design which evenly brews the coffee.  Very few makes have this, so lift the top of each and only buy ones that use this design IMHO.

Buying Experience

Bought at Best Buy and had no problems other than the leaking carafe when washed only.
