Positive Product Points

Finally, a brewer that can whip up a pot of hot coffee in a reasonable amount of time! The Newco OCS-8 Personal Thermal Carafe Brewer. has 1400 Watts of brewing power. 40 fluid ounces of steaming hot coffee in a thermos carafe in 7 minutes! Zowie!

Negative Product Points

I have but one beef, maybe two: This puppy has fairly light accoutrements and components and that scares me. For almost $200 Canadian, I am looking for tank like construction, but it's not quite there. Additionally, the power switch is, in fact a hermetically sealed soft logic switch.

Detailed Commentary

The Newco OCS-8 Thermal Carafe brewer is now our official office coffee maker for hot drip coffee. The Newco has an industrial grade 1400 Watt heating element that brews through a commercial BUNN basket filter. The brew temperature is a perfect 198 - 199 degrees F. producing coffee in a thermos carafe that is 170 degrees. No more tepid coffee for the boys in the coffeecrew lab! For a full carafe, 40 fluid ounces, or 4 man-sized Mugs, it takes 7 minutes for a brew cycle. If you have multiple carafes, no worries, drop in another filter basket of coffee and go!

Buying Experience

I gave Ryan Taylor at Cafe Fantastico some money and he gave me the brewer. It was a no-brainer!
