Makes terrific coffee, so far. Was using a Melitta Clarity but something must have happened to one of the elements; just was not hot enough. This brews at the right temperature and produces hot coffee.

The basket holder seems to be a little flimsy.
Detailed Commentary
I love the look of this coffee maker over that of the Melitta Clarity. Takes up much less space on the counter. This is my baby-step maker on the way to the Technivorm. I just can't spend that much yet. One thing I have noticed is that you must be very careful to center the pot on burner or risk getting brewed coffee all over the counter. The Kenya AA I have been feeding it this week has produced a great cup of coffee, the right temp, the right body, the right taste. The shape of the carafe, sort of like an Erlenmeyer (sp?) flask, makes cleaning it a little difficult.
Buying Experience
Ordered from Costco because of their bullet-proof retun policy. Given some of the reviews here expressing concern with the longevity of this item, I can always take it back to Costco if it poops out. No questions asked.
Three Month Followup
I ended up firing this coffee maker and returning it to Costco for a full refund. Got tired of the damn thing leaking all over the counter unless the pot was in "just right" and that seemed to change daily. Made good coffee when it actually went into the pot.
