Detailed Commentary
After reading several reviews I purchased from Costco 6 monnths ago. This machine has been used twice daily for the past 6 months and other than 2 descalings it has been flawless. I like it so much that I saw KMart had it onsale for $18.99, so I picked one up as a backup. I have not had any unusual plastic smell but the filter holder will drip when the carafe is removed. Yes the carafe is a little dificult to clean but for a $20 machine you can't get much better. It consistantly brews HOT flavorful coffee. Isn't that what its all about. Go out and get one........ I'm sure you'll agree!
Buying Experience
Costco was great, but now check your local Sears and KMart as they carry it now( in store )
Three Month Followup
Still going strong have descaled 1 time. Still brews consistanly HOT flavorful coffee. The best coffee maker I have ever owned. Its a shame they don't make this one anymore....but I still have another waiting to go if this one fails.
One Year Followup
Still going strong after a year. Brew consistantly at 195-205. Since these are now unavailable I hope it lasts alot longer.
