Looks great but if you want hot coffee buy a machine with a glass lined carafe.
Positive Product Points
This high tech design will look great in any kitchen or office. Removable water tank makes filling easy. Timer/Clock is easy to program. Makes great coffee!
Negative Product Points
Coffee is not hot enough unless stainless steel carafe is prewarmed. Carafe lid is bad design.
Detailed Commentary
I was at the local Starbucks a while back when I saw this great looking Aroma Grande on sale for $109. I took it home and gave my old drip machine to my son for his shop. The old machine had a glass lined thermal carafe plus a warming plate so luke warm coffee was never an issue. Unfortuantely, I found Thermos (trademark) had it right a hundred years ago when they used glass lined containers to keep liquids warm. Instuctions give option of preheating carafe with hot water. This does work if you have the time but makes programing function rather useless. As noted in other reviews the lid is not a good design. The coffee comes out of my lid a little slow and eratticaly as well. The coffee also has a metallic taste to me but I've only had the machine for a couple weeks and I would hope some seasoning will take care of that problem. If I were to buy another coffee maker I would make sure it had a glass lined carafe.
Buying Experience
First Aroma Grande I got from Starbucks had been used and returned. (Maybe for reasons stated above.) However personnel were very pleasant and gave an exchange without even asking for a sales receipt.
