The best drip coffee maker on the market and expensive but very sturdy.
Positive Product Points
Just great coffee and fast too. Sturdy and some metal with high quality plastic and thick glass. I cannot imagine better coffee from anything anywhere. You really get the flavor of whatever beans you buy (assuming you are grinding correctly and with good water).
Negative Product Points
The price is high but you know how that goes. It is a little funky looking but I am not entering any kitchen fashion shows anytime soon.
Detailed Commentary
Well I am another one of those people who read all the reviews and wanted the best flavor in drip coffee as I drink it black. I at first wanted (and bought) a good french press but on a regular basis, it will raise your cholestorol levels so had to give that up as regular thing. The only other option was making drip coffee with the right fresh beans, ground correctly and with clean water and proper temperature. It is hard to really imagine how important a part temperature plays until you buy this thing and you never again get a bitter or bad cup of coffee. If you are not the type who grinds your coffee just before brewing but wants the coffee ready in the morning when you wake up, this is not the maker for you and for good reason. If you are reading about this machine you must already know how ground coffee sitting out all night can't be good for the flavor. Well, enough words-just buy this thing!
By the way, don't buy the version with the metal decanter as I was told it will make your coffee cold so just get the one with the glass decanter (This is what the salesperson at Boyd's intimated and this makes sense to me).
Buying Experience
Boyd's coffee was fine and included filters and a pound of coffee. The experience was very good but I have not had any issues after purchase to test out their warrantee service.
