After reading all the great reviews on this site i decided to take the plunge on my KBT 741. The only positive i can come up with in this machine is that it does brew to temp and the heating element is quality built. The slow, full stop switch is also a nice feature.
Negative Product Points
cord cap is upside down for my electrical outlets. SS carafe should have a indent on the top so the coffee can be poured into the cup and not on the counter. The spray bar should be about an inch longer to be centered over the brew basket and the first three holes closest to the resevoir should be blocked.
Detailed Commentary
For the amount of money paid i am extremely disappointed in this coffee maker. To start i should not have to turn the outlet in my kitchen upside down to plug the the coffee maker in to have the cord facing down. So i replace the cord cap with a standard one. The thermal carafe is junk in my opinion, it is cheaply built and has no indent on the top to pour and a cheesy stopper. That i replaced with a thermal carafe for bed bath and beyond. Last but not least the spray bar has alot to be desired, It should be about an inch longer and the holes should start passed the first three closest to the resevoir and be smaller to create more of a burst than a trickle. It does make tasty coffee, but so does my areo press for a fraction of the cost. I will keep it for now until hopefully something better comes out.
