(1) Tray that carafe sits on when in place for brewing does not attach to coffeemaker in a sensible manner. (2) Carafe removable lid is difficult to screw on and off. (3) Carafe does not keep coffee hot long enough (4) Fuller flavored brew requires the water use to cut the drip control on the filter/coffee basket off and allow the water to collect and saturate the coffee for several minutes before allowing it to go into the carafe. I believe there may be a way to design a basket system that would automatically do this.
Detailed Commentary
I thought the two Starbucks Barista coffeemakers were excellent until I purchased the Technivorm. There is a day/night difference in the coffee quality. In fact the coffee from the Technivorm is equal to any restaurant or coffee house I have ever had. I do think that grinding coffee beans fresh before brewing adds flavor as well. It is a real treat to have an extremely high quality coffee the first thing in the morning. I can't imagine a more consistent coffeemaker. It does everything well. It appears that only high quality materials are used.
