This is good for non espresso purposes such as drip, press, and moka pot. Works fine as a secondary grinder.
Positive Product Points
Works well for press pot, drip, and moka pot. Decent range in grind size.
Negative Product Points
Not for espresso. Sometimes it slips a bit on the coarsest setting, causing it to auto shut off. This is because if you totally turn the hopper to remove it, the machine will auto shut off. Doesn't always happen, not a really big deal. Some static problems.
Detailed Commentary
This grinder works fine for non espresso uses. I use it with a french press and get nice results. It's even enough to not produce much sediment in the cup. You can do much better with a higher end grinder though. This also works fine with my Bunn drip machine, but make sure it's not too fine with a high flow machine like that.
The amount of settings for grind size is adequate for these purposes.
It looks good, not very big at all. Clear plastic bin, black paint.
The hopper is fine, but static can make a mess sometimes.
It is timer operated, though you can hold the timer knob to just when it comes on if you want. It's able to grind more than enough I usually need, which is generally half to 3/4 turn depending on grind.
If you have a grinder for espresso exclusively (some take a while to dial in just right), this would be just fine to do other stuff.
