Detailed Commentary
Comes with portafilter holders that work well and machine is well thought out. Portafilter switch to activate grinding. Grinds VERY fine. Enough to clog the grinder and my Wega MiniNova. My espresso grind is about 5 out of 15 on the espresso grinder scale. Each 15 segments of the LCD "espresso" range has 3-4 steps. Meaning that there are 45-50 steps of adjustment in the espresso range. Machine knows if portafilter holders are in place and prompts you to remove them out of the espresso grind range. Removable bottom catch tray. Easy to clean out spilled grinds. Removable bean hopper that won't spill out the bean when removed. Nice sealed grind jar for storing ground coffee if you must do so. Not too loud. Very well thought out machine. No shims needed. No modification needed. Breville has been listening and adressed the previous issues. I have some clumping of the ground coffee, but I have only ran about 1# of beans through. I hope this will improve with time. Grinds VERY fine, this will absolutely work with espresso machines. Way better grinder than my last Baratza Mistro plus. For this price point this is a good grinder. Can it compare to a versa lab? No, but at $150 it is a good choice for a first grinder or budget setup.
