Not enough time on the timer to grind lets say, a 12 cups coffee maker
Detailed Commentary
I have bought a BCK450XL grinder 3 months ago, I liked it so much that I bought another one for my girlfriend. Unfortunately her grinder was defective, when I received it. The removable cone grinder could not lock in place tight enough to permit an espresso grind... Breville sent me a new grinder cone and works fine now. But ... meanwhile mine broke down while I was waiting for the part to come,( to repair my girlfriend,s grinder). The problem is electronic, the security switches works fine but the electronic relay inside doesen't respond anymore. I' m actually waiting an answer from Breville. I have noticed that heat always comes out from the back of the grinder, even when not in use, as if something was always powered up inside..... makes me a bit nervous as the 2 grinders I have does the same thing. I you want details on the problem found on the cone grinder that could not grind fine enough, leave me a message and I will explain in details the mistake Breville made and refuse to acknowledge.
Buying Experience
Easy to buy, no problems there....
Three Month Followup
Breville followed up on my complaint and provided me with the grinding cone for one unit and replaced the other unit that had a power supply fault in it. Although I was unlucky with my two units I would still recommand them. (for the quality of the grind)
One Year Followup
Well my Breville grinder still works well after a full year of regular use. I still find that the grind is constant and very little coffee dust is emited as it grinds. I would buy and recommand this product. Breville wrote to me that the heat emited at the back of the grinding machine is normal and not to worry about it.
