I loved the price and relative small size and upgrading (for me) to a conical burr grinding machine.
Negative Product Points
The badly designed receptacle, enormous amounts of static "fling", noise, and no timer or sustained grinding switch are all huge negatives.
Detailed Commentary
I wanted to upgrade from my Bosch, home-modified burr grinder that died after 10 years of service. I thought the Gaggia to be a nice upgrade; that is, until I loaded it up and turned it on. Very poorly designed receptacle with impossibly recessed corner sections that would keep a compulsive cleaner busy for weeks with a one-haired brush. Static that made an instant mess of my counter, noise levels to wake the dead, and no hands free operation add to the unfriendliness of the experience. It lasted two days before I packed back up for return. I've now upgraded to the Solis Maestro.
Buying Experience
I thought the sales guy at the store to be very knowledgeable--that is till I found this website! From now on, I'll read these reviews prior to purchasing.
