Detailed Commentary

My Dienes hand grinders have gone  head to head with my 2007 Mazzer Major for the past few years. On pump, manual lever and spring lever espresso machines.  The Olympia Cremina manual lever is my everyday machine.  A Dienes is now my everyday espresso grinder.  The extractions are smoother lever pulls with the handmill grind. Produces the classic Cremina crema.  Dienes grinders are quite aggressive. The one I use most takes about 50-60 turns for 14 grams which is faster than most. Everything considered a Dienes is at least as easy and quick to use and clean as the Major.
I consider Dienes to be tops in manual espresso grinders. Great quality conical burrs and boxes.

Buying Experience

Prices have risen with their renewed popularity. ebay is where mine have come from
you have to be patient and look for one in nice shape. $75- $100 should get a nicer model in little use condition. You can get lucky at around $50+or-
