Poor grinder. Doesn't grind all the coffee evenly! I wouldn't recommend at all.
Positive Product Points
I love the sound it makes and it's better than the dodgy blade grinder I used to have.
Negative Product Points
Even on the finest grind setting, it doesn't grind all the coffee proprerly. I actually have to feed my ground beans through it a second time to even out the grind.
Detailed Commentary
I don't understand the fact that this grinder can't evenly grind my beans. Most cheapo grinders I've seen grind the coffee unevenly, or in the wrong hands can give too fine a grind for domestic pump machines. I purchased this grinder expecting to use it on a course grind to avoid the second problem, but was disappointed. I've found that even on the finest grind setting, it comes out at varying levels of courseness. You get some large fragmants, some really fine stuff, and everything in between.
I've tried thoroughly cleaning the grinding surface before and after each grind, but this seems to make no difference at all to the performance.
The only way I can work out to prevent this uneven grind is to run the grounds through the grinder again. This seems to pick up the larger particles and even the grind out somewhat.
Once I've run my grounds through the grinder the second time, it comes out just right. This allows me to make some decent espresso.
In summary, I would not recommend this grinder to anyone who wants to make consistently good coffee. If all you want is some impressive sounds, go for it!!
Buying Experience
This was actually on special when I picked it up. I'm guessing they were palming off what is obviously a product aimed at the non-discerning coffee drinker.
