While this unit is very easy to use and clean, it has a couple of problems.
First, here is what is does well: if you set the machine to the absolute coarsest setting, you will get a grind suitable for drip coffee. It may still be a little fine for your taste, especially if you use a gold filter and not paper. It does grind quickly and for drip, does a decent job. It is also fairly easy to clean.
The problems I have experienced with the machine are: 1) the hopper gets stuck and you have to shake it manually just about every time you use it. 2) Unless you are making drip, the machine is not useful, it grinds too inconsistently for espresso. On the finest setting it may work well for Greek or Turkish coffee, I couldn't say.
One thing I would like to add, Krups has outstanding customer service. When I opened the box for the first time, I saw the hopper dome had a crack in it. I would have exchanged it, but I had purchased the last unit at my local store. I called Krups and had two replacement domes arrive free of charge within ten days.
