It is a little big for home use, but I keep it stored when not in use, so the size is not a big issue. Doser is not that useful for home use if you grind coffee only as needed.
Detailed Commentary
There's really nothing I can add to the detailed review already on the site. I was upgrading from a Solis Maestro, which I still use for everything other than espresso. Right out of the box it is obvious that this is not a machince designed for casual kitchen use. It is big and heavy, but it also works great. The ability to fine tune the grind and produce such a consistent grind are worth the sacrifice in space.
I would like to put to rest any "fears" over going to a grinder with a doser. Because I was used to the Maestro, I was not looking forward to using a grinder with a doser. When making more than one drink at a time the doser actually is a plus. I can sweep off the filter over the open doser and still be able to collect and use the grounds. When done, the cleanup of sweeping out the doser only takes a few extra seconds over cleaning the Maestro.
Buying Experience
WLL double boxed the item and promptly shipped it. They packed it well so the grinder arrived unharmed although the shippers obviously mangled the outer box.
