Detailed Commentary
After realizing that my Rocky was my weak link (after my lousy technique of course) by not providing a reliably reproducible grind and fine enough adjustment ability, I looked around at the next step up. I was hesitant about having a doser, especially with all the reports of the Mazzer dosers not sweeping clean enough. I saw this being offered at a rare sale price by 1st-line after Thanksgiving and immediately hit buy.
I could not be happier, really. This think kicks ass. The quality of grind is so much better than the rocky and absolutely repeatable. I have learned over time exactly how much to nudge it for decaf and for the few roasts I regularly use. I typically single dose by weight and find using the doser for this is easy and cleaner than when I was using the doserless Rocky.
If you are thinking about a real espresso grinder, just buy one and save yourself all the trouble of screwing around with a cheaper one since you will end up with a Mazzer in the end anyway.
Buying Experience
