Fast, easy to use, doser seems a bit tidier than the mini
Negative Product Points
It's got a scratch in the base, how that got there is mind boggling
Detailed Commentary
We have had the Mazzer Mini for about 18 Months, and with starting a cafe, we aquired the Super Jolly. The Mini was originally going to be put into service, but we got a bundle of stuff including the rather unused refurbished Jolly.
Before using it, it got a thorough clean - which is why I can say it was hardly used between being refurbished and us getting it. I have a Mini to compare it to.
The Jolly is faster than the Mini, enough that when I grind decaf in the Mini it seems to take forever!
The upside to this is that I frequently grind to much coffee and have to pull an extra shot for myself.
The downside to the Jolly is I was never allowed it in the kitchen due to it's size.
Next to the Mini, it is admittedly bigger, and I got into warm water putting a Mini in the kitchen.
Side by side the Jolly and the Mini look great - so I would heartily recommend getting both a Mini and a Jolly for your coffee setup.
As for actual useage - as with the Mini, I find I don't have to make lots of adjustments to the grind - it holds the grind well, but when I do need to change, it is dead simple. I like the stepless grind adjustement.
Another like is the timer - while I haven't quite worked out how far to turn for a shot, it has stopped me grinding through the hopper on more than one occasion.
This was bought knowing it is a second hand unit, but it performs brilliantly as I would expect a grinder of this quality to.
In summing up - very happy with the grinder, and happy with Mazzers in general - I have ordered a second mini for testing new blends with, so I practice what I preach...
Buying Experience
I bought this second hand with a Wega etc when a local cafe closed / was sold with no equipment required.
