Detailed Commentary
Not only is this a good starter grinder, but the quality is good enough to be used in the coffeehouse setting for lesser used bean types.
The first thing that impressed me ways the quality solid build of the machine. This thing is built like a tank. The next thing I noticed was how quiet it is while grinding. There are also a wide range of grind setting from 0-40+ and the grinds that it produces are near perfect consistency.
After testing the settings for different types of brewing I came up with the following:
Turkish, Greek, or Arabic coffee should be set at #5
Vac Pot coffee should be set at between 25-30
French Press or Press Pot coffee should be set at 40+
In each case I was blown away by the quality, speed, and consistency grind. The end result in the cup was super for all three brew methods tested to date.
My only compliant is that near the end of the grind, the last of the ground get stuck up inside the machine. This requires the next time you grind, you much trash the first few seconds of grinds produced because they will be stale.
Buying Experience
The Espresso Coffee Shop is a great place to shop. They have live on-line customers service that are both nice and helpful. They also offer quick turn around and fast delivery.
I use this machine every day at lease once if not more often. Its built like tank and produces great grind results for Turkish, French oress, or vac pot. I have had no problems at all with it.
