Detailed Commentary
I mostly drink Americanos, so the real need for a high end espresso machine is not there for me at least for now. What I do want is a much better cup of coffee than produced by drip machines, many of which cook the coffee after brewing. I saw this reviewed and went to Seattle Coffee Gear's website and watched the video and ordered one off the site.
I grind my beans just before brewing and have been very pleased with the results of the finished product. When we get visitors at the house, they are always offered a cup of coffee and using the Aeropress, I can make them a drink quickly. I use a induction hob to heat the water. It will come up to temp in less than 1 1/2 minutes. Much quicker for the first cup from a drip machine and no wasted coffee.
Grind the beans, measure the grounds into the Aeropress, pour in the correct temp water, stir, wait a few seconds and press out a very smooth- rich cup of coffee.
My wife only drinks milk based coffee, so I use my Saeco machine to froth the milk and then press the coffee into the milk pitcher. If I have my timing right, she can have her drink out in less than 2 minutes.
Cleaning is a breeze. Take the bottom off, keep the filter for later use after a quick rinse and push the puck out. Rinse the plunger and you are ready to make more.
Buying Experience
I ordered from Seattle Coffee Gears website. They shipped quickly and the product arrived in less than 1 week. I did also watch their video on this product. There was no personal contact. Seattle Coffee Gear produced the results they promised through their follow-up e-mails and produced a tracking number for me to follow the shipment.
