Bottom Line: faster and easier than french press while making a smooth cup of coffee.  especially useful at work.
Positive Product Points

faster to brew(<1min), easier to clean(<10sec).  makes a nice, smooth cup.

Negative Product Points

This may look like a high school science project (it is a giant plastic syringe) .
I don't agree with the manufacture water level.   I ended up having twice more water not to get too smooth cup.

Detailed Commentary

I was sick of the coffee at my workplace--the famous Folgers--but I knew that my coffee press will not be easy to use at work.  It takes time to brew and especially the cleaning will be a pain in the neck at work.  Aeropress is exactly the one I was looking for.  From preparing to cleaning the tool, it takes less than 2 minutes at most, and above all, it makes great coffee.   I read a posting that they sold their espresso machine at home being impressed by Aeropress, but I don't feel it can replace my Silvia at all.  However, still, it makes a lot better than the drip machine with Folgers, and I'm more than happy with it.   I'd like to recommend this to my friends.

One thing is, I didn't like the recommended water levels.  If follwed, the cup is too smooth and doesn't have enough caffein.. :)  I ended up adding twice as much water than the labels.

Buying Experience

I have always used 1st line, but Aeropress was not available at that time, so bought it at Amazon.  I believe a 3rd party shipped the item, but had no problem.
