crema is fake. terribly overbrews my good coffee. have given up on it after a few weeks. (i dont like mokapots in general)
Positive Product Points
mmm... gives a fake crema that looks good on top of you coffee.
Negative Product Points
it's a stovepot. i haven't managed to make a more than half decent cup with one of these. maybe i am a snob, maybe my vendors sell me the wrong grind (but these are quality beans from professionals in specialist stores) maybe there's something in the water, or is it than amsterdam is below sea level? ;)
Detailed Commentary
the pot's suppose to keep the water from coming by building up the pressure with a valve. this gives a fake crema, that doesnt add to the taste and dissapears mostly in the cup. plus, these valves leak. while building up pressure, about one or two minutes before the pot starts to spray, there is water running through the coffee into the top. i have tried different types of coffee, from different stores, in a moka pot setting grind. but they all taste overbrewed, way too strong (and i love a strong shot!) and bitter. BLECH! maybe a little rougher grind would be better? but i'm not even going to try anymore. the pot simply have given me way to many undrinkable cups, half-decent a best. i have switched to an espresso machine. in other words, a complete waste of money!
Buying Experience
duikelman didnt want to listen to my complaints, the owner acted like a prick, and sent me off with a bad mood and a pot i dont want. will not ever buy there again!
