I like this little coffee maker. But I have to try a bigger one than the 3 cup(they should make a 4 cup that fills my coffee mug). Over all good coffee made easy at right price.
Positive Product Points
Makes a nice little cup of espresso like coffee. Very simple design not to hitech. Can easliy be used any where a hotplate or camp stove. This little cafe maker works off of pressure brewing ,and not the old american drip or perc style. Nicely sealed to lock in the coffee aroma unlike most pots.
Negative Product Points
Dont over fill the water reserve or the upper part will over flow. The handle is just a little to colse to the pot.
Detailed Commentary
The model I bought is just a nino(child) pot. Cute little thing looks like some thing you would find in great grandma's kitchen. Not to technical in design easy to use and easy to clean. Most of the books I have read say if you cant make good coffee with it get a little old italian person to show you.
use good water
use medium fine grind
start with good coffee (not folgers or anything from a can) You can use Illy coffee and canned like it,but yourcoffee will start to oxidize within a few days.
use the right amount of coffee for your taste.
I give the coffee a little tamp and fill it almost to the top
use not to high of heat around medium
when done pour in cup and enjoy
clean your coffee pot and put it where your freinds will know your are a Coffee Geek.
Buying Experience
They can be found in just about any coffee store. I purchased mine at Allen Brothers in Albany, Oregon (I support the little guy). We stop there to get good espresso on our travels to Portland. Good service and staff.
