Detailed Commentary
I bought the Mukka because I had read the reviews, and I really wanted a simple, elegant, stove-top espresso and latte maker. I am a cappuccino and other milk-based drinks type of person, so this seemed like a perfect solution for me.
I tried very hard to love this beautiful little machine, but just returned it today and I will be investing in a pump espresso machine instead.
I was simply not satisfied with the milk -- it is not frothy (I understand that we are not looking to get "microfoam" or even creamy milk with this type of machine, but the milk barely even frothed up. At most I would get a mediocre soupy mess which could arguably be called a latte but to me was not really even worth calling it that.
I did continue to use the Mukka just for espresso, and decided to forgo the milk completely, but ultimately decided I would return it and use that $80 towards a more quality machine.
Overall I would say that I used the machine about 20 times and was only satisfied the first few times. The last time I used it, it leaked all over the stove and that clinched my decision to return it.
Buying Experience
Very easy -- walked into BBB and walked out. They were great about the return, six months later.
