Bodum has a well known and establish liine of products. their vaccum pot is easy to assemble, to use and to clean. it's a good deal for the money.
Positive Product Points
The product is very easy to assemble, clean and fun to watch. It delivers great and clean coffee above 4 to 5 cups. It's cheap, simple and efficient.
Negative Product Points
The glass tube does not reach all the way to the bottom so it leaves a certain amount of boiling water in the chamber pot. This has for effect to add water to the coffee cooling coffee coming back down from the upper chamber, thus diluting it.
Detailed Commentary
Overall a vacuum pot is an original and fun idea for great coffee. Far from the impersonal machines that do it all anonymously for you, in this case you have a great window insight on on how things are done. Two glass bowls suck the water from one to another as the water boils. when the water cools down in the upper bowl it creates coffee and sips back down to the lower bowl. The filter system is simple and amazingly efficient. The filter mechanism works great and the whole contraption works even better for 6+ cups then for 1 or 2, due to the left over water that does not get sucked up. It is easy to clean and maintain and I think it's well worth the purchase, be it to show it off to your friends.
Buying Experience
I went on line to try to find the best price and I ended up going to Home Decor Products, Inc. They had the cheapest price, around $44. With delivery tax etc the total amount was about $53. Service was quick, within a week. Nothing to say except that I would have like bodum to explain a little more in their notice.
