The best way to make coffee, beats any drip machine.
Positive Product Points
Nice to watch, makes the most excellent coffee.
Negative Product Points
Requires attention for operation.
Fragile, the glass can easily break (happened me once).
The special geometry makes it hard to clean without a special brush.
The filter can clog if it is not run for a long enough time on the stove (30 seconds to a minute). I think it can be because there still is a little air in the lower pot which reduces the suction.
Detailed Commentary
Price in Norway is approx $40 for the pot only. Hard to get, many stores have to order it specially for you.
It is not my preferred way to make coffee in the morning when there is a hurry, for that is is too attention-demanding. When I have the time to care for it, however, it makes the finest coffee I have ever drunk. The Santos made me stop going to coffee-shops because I could get far better coffee at home.
If you already have a stove, buying a vacuum pot gives better value for less money than a drip machine.
