Bottom Line: This is a great first vac. pot.  It‘s easy to use, well built and designed, and the coffee is excellent.
Positive Product Points

Easy to find, Reasonable price, Ease of use, Works directly on top of most stoves, Excellent coffee

Negative Product Points

The price, while reasonable, could be cheaper.  It can be difficult to seperate the halves.

Detailed Commentary

After having been bitten by the vac. pot bug, I‘ve tried to get an old Silex or Cory off of e-bay.  However, it seems that these are a hot item and bidding wars always drive the price too high.  My wife came to the rescue and ordered me a Santos for my birthday ($35).  After having used it for a few pots now, I can say that I love this pot.  It‘s a farily elegant design and it works wonderfully.  I was worried about the strength of the glass due to some other reviews, but it does not seem any more fragile than any other modern coffee pot.  Maybe it‘s being compared to an old Silex.  Anyway, I‘m extremely happy with the ease of use and cleanup and the coffee is some of the best I‘ve ever had.
