Detailed Commentary

I have been a fan of Bodum for many years. In the eighties, my father purchased a Bodum Santos from a Barnies Coffee store in our local shopping mall. I was amazed at the process and intrigued by the physics. I inherited the Santos when he passed and continued to use it until one day I forgot to turn off the burner and cooked the pot to the point of failure. You can imagine my excitement upon finding an electric version of my favorite coffee maker with a brew cycling that happened automatically. I purchased my Electric Santos in 2004 while stationed in England and have been using it frequently since. Yes, the plastic ear broke off the lid and yes I lost the lid in one of the moves since then. No, I have not experienced any problems with the timer mechanism and I feel the overall quality of the product is equal to or better than any other plastic appliances in the same price range.
I really enjoy, even 9 years later, my Bodum Mini Santos Electronic Vacuum Coffee Maker (Mdl.3004) and I still make converts by talking up what I see as the positive points and I love the reaction of folks viewing the brewing process.

Buying Experience

Buying experience... I walked into the RAF Lakenheath Base Exchange main store (then temporarily located at RAF Feltwell), spotted a shelf full of the Bodum Mini Electronic Coffee Makers, selected one, carried it to the register, paid for it and never looked back.
So, yup - great buying experience. No emails, no follow-on customer service and certainly no shipping hassels.
