Because of its disadvantages, I don‘t use it very often - and certainly not for a quick cuppa.
I use it on the stove- after the first try or so with the meths thing.
Use hot water in bottom. Don‘t knock the glass stopper if you must stir it.
I have a theory that vac pot coffee accentuates all coffee varietals tastes - YMMV.
