This is an inexpensive introduction to vac-pot coffee.
Positive Product Points
The glass filter works very well. The glass is quite heavy. Replacement glass is easy to find. They can be found fairly inexpensively on eBay. You can make up to 8 cups at once.
Negative Product Points
It's obviously meant to be functional, not beautiful. I don't know where to find replacement gaskets which could be a problem.
Detailed Commentary
I prefer coffee made in a vacuum pot to any other method aside from espresso. Drip coffee, while hot, is very bitter and has a lot of the good flavors filtered out. French press coffee is not hot enough and has sediment. Vacuum coffee is hot and not at all bitter. Coffee made in my Cory generally has some coffee oils floating on the top, which is a good thing. The glass filter does a very good job filtering out sediment. I have a glass top stove and I don't use a wire grid- it hasn't been a problem so far.
