Nicely integrated product that is well though out. The burner wick is a loop of metal that vaporizes the alcohol before it burns - an ingenious design and no cloth wick is required.
Negative Product Points
A bit small in volume. Listed as 5 cups (on the side of the bottom carafe) but at only about 20 ounces, it really is only adequate for two or three cups.
Detailed Commentary
Has paper filters that really produce a sediment free cup. A spring chain holds the filter in place very well. I preheat the water in a microwave to almost boiling to save some time since the amount of heat from the burner is relatively small and would take a while to heat 20 ounces to near boiling. My first vacuum coffee maker and I am sold on it.
