I am absolutely giddy about this machine. I cannot vouch for espresso shots, as I am exclusively a latte drinker.
I bought this machine for camping, but for lattes, this machine regularly beats my Solis SL-90. My Solis has become an expensive milk frother.
One other reviewer has complained that it doesn't build enough pressure, but I disagree. I have found that if I add extra water, after raising the pump levers, I can increase the pressure as much as I want. I simply stop the stroke when I have expressed enough water.
I can't wait for my upcoming camping trip this April to amaze my compadres with backcountry coffee non-pareil. I have only had it two weeks, so reliability is unknown.
Due to my limited expertise, I hope a genuine, respected afficionado will do (or has done) a lengthy review of this machine. It's simplicity and elegance of design and use are incredible for a $100 machine.
My only doubt comes from a previous reviewer's concern about shot temperature. That hasn't been an issue wilth lattes.
Latte campers, throw away your moka pots.
