Stylish and Classy, it's nice to have but not worth the asking price.
Positive Product Points
Very stylish combination of glass, metal, and acryllic. Does everything a press pot should. Much better looking than most. No functional problems or complaints
Negative Product Points
Ridiculously expensive in comparison to alternative press pots. Nothing functionally better than a cheap Bodum. Acryllic portion can not be placed in dishwasher, which given that Acrylic is omnipresent, means the whole thing is not dishwasher safe.
Detailed Commentary
This beautiful and stylish take on the French Press is Germany's answer to Bodum. It is made with a glass cylinder made by Schott Glass, perhaps the most well known high end German glass makers. The design is quite attractive, designed by Tino Alferi and Tilo Ploss, famous German designers. The combination of glass, plastic, and metal is stunning.
Functionally the product is neither better nor worse than any other Press Pot. It does the job but is perhaps harder to clean than most due to a combination of dissimilar materials which makes occasional forays into the dishwasher ill-advised.
Price-wise the thing is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. Original asking price in the USA was about $80 USD. After a series of price reductions I bought several for approximately $25 US each, which represented good value.
