Positive Product Points
Stylish,collectable,durable,permanent,washable mesh filter. Good if not equally better than the modern electric vacuum coffee makers produced today. Easy clean-up too. It has become my #1 coffee maker on a daily basis
Negative Product Points
Rubber seal can become hard and brittle and almost impossible to find nos(new old stock) seal. Upper and lower pots can be difficult to separate if the seal becomes hard with age and are not conditioned periodically.
Detailed Commentary
Several months ago I had one of these Sunbeam C30's and decided to give it to a good friend of mine in the antiques business who wanted to experience the taste and quality of vacuum brewed coffee. He was sold on it. I then invested in a modern elecrtic vacuum coffee maker only to find out that it was not brewing long enough and had a few problems also. I told myself,I sure miss that Sunbeam vacpot I had several months back. In my browsing at local antique/flea malls I found another C30A for $19.95 in good and working condition. So I am glad to be making and enjoying my coffee once again with one of these vintage vacpots.
Buying Experience
Ebay usually always has vintage sunbeam vac pots for sale. Check the next time you visit an antique/flea mall near where you live. prices can vary from $10-50 bucks.
Three Month Followup
I recently purchased and won a C20B sunbeam coffeemaster. I am very impressed with the outcome and the quality of the coffee that is brewed in this vintage small appliance. I use it on a daily basis, regular coffee in the am and decaf in the evening.
