It's easy to use once you get the hang of it and it's an economical introduction to vac pot brewing. It makes a very nice cup!
Negative Product Points
Since it's mostly glass it's more fragile than your standard filter brewer. No instructions provided about proper care of the filter...I had to get that information elsewhere.
Detailed Commentary
This is my first vac pot. I find it easier to heat the water in the bottom globe rather than a separate kettle but it's up to you. I used a typical kitchen thermometer to make sure the water was the proper 195-200 degrees and got a much better result. Also, the instructions don't talk about cleaning. Store the filter assembly in the fridge in water. This assembly can be throughly cleaned by soaking in boiling water with oxyclean (I haven't tried it yet but that was what was recommended.)
I like the fact that the top globe goes on easily and can be removed easily when done brewing. The product appears to be solidly made although, like most vac pots, it's glass so you have to be careful. The instructions that come with it are good but the SweetMarias site has a good supplement that I'd recommended printing out if you buy this unit. (Although as I said above, neither talk about cleaning and storing the filter assembly.)
